Problem Description
There is no comprehensive, understandable, and adaptable managerial reference model for the supply chain, that supports (information-) modeling processes of interconnected business, its seamless ICT (Information- and Communication Technology) support and its relevant internal and external organisational conditions and conse-quences.
Objective
The objective is to develop a managerial model that helps businesses (jointly, as well as individually) to get interconnected in the supply chain and tune their control structures, business processes and ICT support in a seamless manner. An ontology on different levels is developed in order to facilitate communication and common understanding.
Short Research Description
To make the problems that stakeholders face more explicit and to accumulate knowledge for building our managerial reference model, attention focuses on practical as well as theoretical issues that are related to the tuning of the organisation and its communication. One path that is explored is Tracking and Tracing, with its relevant conditions and consequences for seamless support of businesses in the supply chain.
