Beschrijving

This research aims at the development of a methodology to design an operational performance measurement system in a supply chain. Practice has shown that it is rather difficult, if not impossible, to transfer active per-formance measurement systems from one supply chain to the other. As a matter of fact, this holds for single companies also. Therefore, in this research the design of a more or less generic methodology is emphasised, which can be re-used in a whole range of different supply chains. As a starting point, the ProMES methodology is used which has proven to be very successful in the design of a performance measurement system for a work-ing cell in a company.

In a second fase, a working chain performance measurement system will be analysed online, in order to detect trends in the available performance indicators. With this, it should be possible to forecast upcoming disorders. If the cause of such a disorder can be detected, than it is possible to intervene before actual problems arise.
